SDCH, usually expanded as Shadows DC Hub, was a Windows NMDC hub server with a documented third-party scripting ecosystem in the early 2000s. The complete original server project is no longer represented by a verified source repository or current developer site, but surviving add-ons establish that it was deployed and administered as a distinct hub product.

The SGF Control Script project was registered in 2003 specifically for Shadows DC Hub and published an alpha package in 2004. A separate TriviaBot project for SDCH appeared in 2005. These projects provide dated evidence of an operator and scripting community even though they do not contain the complete hub server.

DCHUBLIST classified Shadows DC Hub as outdated in 2016. Current statistics still observe one public hub advertising SDCH 0.3.36. That value identifies a running deployment, not a newly verified upstream release.

The strongest project-specific evidence comes from software built to extend SDCH. SGF Control Script describes advanced commands for administrators, operators, VIP users, and ordinary users. Its SourceForge record identifies Windows, Visual Basic, a Win32 interface, and a BSD license for the script package.

The script project was registered on 2003/09/21 and published sgf-cs-1_0-alpha2.zip on 2004/05/10. TriviaBot for SDCH was registered in 2005 and used C# to provide a trivia engine for the same hub family. Together, the records show that SDCH supported a third-party automation ecosystem.

Hub Core Versus Add-Ons

SGF Control Script and TriviaBot document integrations with Shadows DC Hub, but they are not the hub core. Their programming languages, licenses, and interfaces must not be attributed automatically to the server itself.

No project-controlled server source archive has been verified from these add-on records. The server's original developer, license, internal database, and complete release chronology therefore remain uncertain. Inventory The Installation

Preserve the complete Windows installation directory before starting the service. Record executable names, version information, DLLs, configuration files, registration data, bans, scripts, bot packages, logs, startup shortcuts, service wrappers, and filesystem permissions.

Calculate hashes for every executable and archive. Compare scripts and add-ons separately from the hub core. A failure inside SGF Control Script or TriviaBot does not establish a defect in the SDCH executable.

Isolated Testing

Use a disconnected or tightly firewalled Windows virtual machine. Do not install an unknown historical binary on an administrator workstation or expose it directly to the internet. Monitor files, registry changes, listening ports, and child processes during the first start.

Create test accounts and use a private client connection to inspect login, user classes, commands, scripts, and data storage. Preserve the initial state so each test can be repeated without contaminating the only surviving copy.

Hublist And Pinger Behavior

If a restored server is submitted to a hublist, compare the value it reports with the actual executable. A custom topic or software string can cause an old hub to appear under a misleading version. Record the raw handshake before modifying detection rules.

An old server may also omit statistics expected by current pingers. Treat incomplete user or share data as a compatibility problem to diagnose, not as evidence that the hub has no users.

Migration

Export registrations, roles, bans, welcome text, redirects, scripts, and operator procedures into documented formats. Recreate those functions on a maintained server instead of attempting to preserve every obsolete script unchanged.

Keep the original SDCH environment offline after migration. It may remain necessary for interpreting undocumented records or confirming how an old command behaved.
